The short version

MoneyPlanIt is a free place to learn how investing and trading work, from the very first idea. Every lesson is short and written in plain English. It comes with a quiz to check it has sunk in and a source for every fact, and it’s upfront about the risks.

Why MoneyPlanIt exists

Most money content online is either written for people who already know the jargon, or it’s selling something: a course, a signal group, a broker account. Beginners are left guessing what’s true and what’s marketing.

MoneyPlanIt teaches in the order you need to learn things, and it shows the evidence behind each idea, including when that evidence looks bad. The aim is for you to understand enough to make your own decisions, whether that means investing, trading or deciding neither is for you.

Who writes it

Marcus is the founder and editor of MoneyPlanIt.

For years I watched people sell their “secrets” to investing and trading for eye-watering prices. What their customers got was usually a rehash of things you could find on YouTube for a fraction of the cost, or for free. It made me angry, because the people paying were usually the ones who could least afford it.

So I built MoneyPlanIt to do the opposite. It’s free to learn here. Every lesson explains how something really works, shows the evidence behind it and tells you the catch, so you never have to take anyone’s word for it, including mine.

The aim is simple: teach you the different ways to invest and trade, then show you where to go next, one step at a time, at your own pace.

I’m not a regulated financial adviser, and nothing on this site is personal advice.
